Dear Allen, Jen, and the entire Kiddywinkles whānau,
As we write this, our hearts are overflowing with gratitude, warmth, and a sense of awe at how quickly time has flown.
It’s hard to believe that tomorrow (8th July) marks Thanak’s last day at Kiddywinkles. This is not just a milestone for her, graduating from childcare and preparing for school, but also a deeply emotional one for us as parents.
We still remember that very first day, walking into Kiddywinkles with our 9-month-old baby in our arms. Like many new parents, we were nervous, full of questions, and uncertain about what lay ahead. But Allen, it was your warmth, patience, and gentle reassurance during that first tour that made all the difference. The care you took in showing us around, the way you spoke about your philosophy, and the genuine pride you had in the centre made it so easy for us to make the decision this was the right place for our daughter.
And today, five years later, we can say with absolute confidence: we couldn’t have chosen better.
Kiddywinkles’ motto: “Inspiring young minds” isn’t just a slogan. It’s something we’ve seen come to life, day after day, year after year. You all teachers not just cared for Thanak; you’ve nurtured her spirit, encouraged her confidence, and helped shape her into a bright, empathetic, and curious little girl who is ready for her next big step.
To the beautiful teachers in Arohanui, thank you for being her first gentle guides — for every bottle, cuddle, and song that made her feel safe and loved.
To the amazing team in Waiata, thank you for encouraging her first words, her first friendships, and her blooming personality.
To the incredible teachers in Wairua, thank you for helping her explore creativity and independence, while continuing to fill her days with kindness and joy.
To the inspiring educators in Korero, thank you for your tireless efforts in preparing her for school — not just academically, but emotionally and socially too. You’ve helped her grow with confidence and grace.
And to Jen, thank you for being the heart and soul at the entrance — always smiling, always welcoming, always knowing just what we needed, even on the toughest mornings. Your presence has been a daily comfort to us all.
From those early days of tears and transitions to today’s excitement and goodbyes, this journey has been extraordinary. You’ve all played a profound role in Thanak’s formative years, and for that, we will always be grateful.
